Autumn Sunset
Following is another photo of the local landscape, taken last weekend. I'm just not doing a great job of keeping up with the blog posts. Still haven't seen the new goats either, although I've been hearing them out back all day. They sound so much like children wailing, especially when they lose sight of their mothers. Maaaaaaaaah!!! I'm so glad it's the weekend, I've got lots of plans to get things done around here. Happy Hallowe'en, everyone.

I snapped this earlier this evening, something to get me out of my chair after working non-stop since getting home from an appointment in town all morning. I just finished work and am about to go watch the Great Pumpkin to try to remind myself it's Hallowe'en. This month has flown by unbelievably fast.

Beautiful sunset photo. In Nelson this weekend and experiencing extremely crappy weather. No nice sunsets here. :(

Hi, WC. Believe it or not, we had tiny white flakes falling from the sky for several hours yesterday. The weather has turned unseasonably cold after being unusually mild for so long. I'd just finished reading that El Nino is set to continue our drought and mild weather, and was getting depressed about not having any snow for the holidays, but maybe the universe was trying to cheer me up.
Although, "It's not measurable precipitation, doesn't count!" said Richard. Then he checked the webcams for the Coquihalla and got really grumpy, because it was covered in snow. He was supposed to do a day-trip to Vancouver today but he's postponed it until the highway is cleared. Which just about guarantees he'll be away on his birthday on Wednesday, but I guess we'll wait until the weekend to celebrate.
And hey, if anyone is wondering if it's the big four-oh, nope, that's next year.
It's a beautiful sunny morning, and I've just finished my first cup of chai for the season.

I didn't realize your birthdays were so close together.
It's really cold here, too. Rossland got snow while I was in Nelson and it's still on the ground. Global TV said it would be -8 or so today, with more snow on the way st arting tomorrow. I also heard, like you, that we're in for a milder, dryer winter - which isn't good for our snow pack, which isn't good for our resevoirs.
